2nd snow festival in Hohentauern

Enjoyment, sports and pure snow fun await you at the second snow festival in Hohentauern on 27 and 28 January 2023. Save the date!

On Friday, all epicures will get their money's worth in the hut village in Hohentauern. Many clubs from Hohentauern have prepared delicacies to spoil you in you themed huts. Here you can recharge your energy reserves for the next sports day. On the ShowTruck, Günter Lanz alias DJ Gü will take hold of the controls and ensure a party atmosphere. You can win great prizes on the Hohentauern Wheel of Fortune.

Saturday, 28 January 2023 - Sport & Marc Pircher Live

Starting at 10 a.m., sports and fun are the order of the day throughout Hohentauern. At various stations, every owner of a Schneefest ticket can try out a wide variety of sports until 4 pm. 

LVS training:

The Hohentauern Mountain Rescue Service will show you how to react quickly and correctly in the event of an avalanche accident and how to search for buried victims quickly and effectively using avalanche transceivers. Because every minute counts here.

The training will take place at 10:00 am, 12:00 pm & 2:00 pm.

Snowshoe test area

Elisabeth and Silvia from WEGES will introduce you to the world of snowshoeing.

· Test hike: Basic knowledge will be taught in a short tour. The taster hikes start at 10:00 or 12:30 and last 1.5 h. Please register for the snowshoe taster tour under Tel: +43 650 26 11 9

· First steps: From 10:00 - 15:00 there are snowshoes to borrow and try on the snowshoe meadow.

Fatbike - test it for free

Cycling in the snow? - No problem Sport Scherz from Wörschach makes it possible. On the Fatbike you will find the best conditions for an unforgettable winter adventure. The wide tires provide excellent traction over snow and ice, so you can feel every little bump in the ground. And because fatbikes are lighter and silent, you'll enjoy a whole new winter riding experience. A highlight not only for die-hard mountain bike fans.

Tobogganing with service

In Hohentauern you can forget about pulling your toboggan up the mountain. Hohentauern has its own "toboggan butler" who will bring you and your toboggan back to the starting point. Sledding takes place on the old Tauern road. Meeting point is at the old wooden house at the end of the village (direction Trieben) of Hohentauern (behind Gasthof Lanz). Flags and about 20 rental toboggans mark the start. Just grab your toboggan and go, from here it's a few curves downhill. At the finish the toboggan cab Kandler is waiting to take you back to the starting point.

Trails for free

With the snow festival ticket you can use the top cross-country trails in Hohentauern for free. Whether for beginners or professionals, the fantastic health and sports trails are ideal for all sports enthusiasts. By the way, the cross-country trails have been awarded the cross-country trail quality seal.

Ski for free

The snow festival ticket includes of course the use of the ski slopes. Show your ticket at the ticket office and start skiing!

Aprés Snow Party with Marc Pircher

From 5 p.m. it's party time - Marc Pircher will be performing as a duo and will ensure a great atmosphere and party mood in the Murtal. One more reason to stay one night longer! Best to book right away.
