In the municipal area, which borders Lower Austria in the north and Burgenland in the south, the Pinka River rises.
The market town of Pinggau offers numerous hiking trails with four adjacent peaks of the Wechsel region. In addition, the East Austrian Grenzlandweg, a long-distance hiking trail, leads through the community. The Catholic parish church is located in the village and is a place of pilgrimage to Maria Hasel. Next to it is the Brunnkapelle, built in 1698, whose flowing healing spring is a spiritual place of strength for many people.
