About the offer

Join a clan of mammoth hunters

Join a clan of mammoth hunters and experience an interesting insight into our  past. Gerhard Wiesler, professional bow maker and experienced spear thrower, will guide you through this exciting day. You will get to know a forgotten hunting weapon of your ancestors from the year 10,000 BC.

  • Build your own atlatl – an ancient hunting weapon that you can take home
  • Participate in a simulated hunt as an initiation rite
  • Enjoy Stone Age cuisine, hopefully after a successful hunt
  • We will light our fire with a fire drill

Included services

This experience is only bookable for adults. You should be reasonably fit and healthy for the full experience. Consider the season for which you are booking.

Choose sensible clothing for the duration of the Slow Trips experience, in which you will feel comfortable outside for an extended period.

What is specifically included in the service?

  • Build your personal atlatl set – spear thrower with two spears under professional guidance
  • Practice with your atlatl
  • Learn to start a fire the old-fashioned way, using a fire drill
  • You will receive a warm authentic meal and seasonal snacks: such as berries, insects, jerky, vegetables, etc.
  • Test the 3D course with your atlatl

The event takes place exclusively on the property of the Wiesler family in Puch near Weiz. It starts at nine o'clock and ends at six o'clock.
