On this developed hiking trail you will learn everything about the rowan berry, where, when and how it grows and what is made from it.
The rowan, or as they say in the Almenland Nature Park - the rowan tree - is a rose plant that flowers from May to July and accordingly bears the ripe rowan fruit from August to September, which is particularly popular in St. Kathrein am Offenegg and is processed into countless different products.
At Edelbrennerei Graf, for example, you can buy rowan berry brandy, rowan berry liqueur and rowan berry jam - of course there are many other delicious varieties, which are best sampled during a guided tour with tasting.
If you like being out in nature, the Sulamith Garden with its magnificent floral decorations is sure to make you happy, with an audio tour of the garden.
Of course, a hike should not be complete without a stop for refreshments, and St. Kathrein has plenty to offer in this respect too - you can find the local inns here.
The hiking trail is accessible all year round.
The hiking trail is free of charge.
