Advent huts filled with handicrafts, a brightly lit candle tent, fragrant mulled wine, sweet waffles and contemplative music invite you to enjoy the pre-Christmas period with your loved ones far away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. With the opening, it's finally that time again and the Advent market on the main square in Gleisdorf opens its doors. Culinary art, handicrafts and lots of entertainment for young and old are intended to get visitors in the mood for the contemplative Christmas season.
Bright lights, charm, tradition and loving details
Gleisdorf dives back into the most beautiful, contemplative and romantic time of the year. The center is formed by the brightly lit candle tent, in which a varied but always atmospheric supporting program shortens the waiting time for the Christ Child. At the stalls you will find exquisite handicrafts and selected products from the region - the artists themselves are available for discussions. It smells of punch, homemade biscuits and sweet waffles, with soft Christmas sounds in the background. Stroll through the city's shopping streets and then warm up with a hot drink at the Advent market. There, visitors can expect a varied supporting program, but also plenty of space to get in the mood for the Christmas season together in a cozy atmosphere.
On Friday, November 29nd, from 4 p.m., we invite you to the opening of the tent of lights with a contemplative program. From 6 p.m., a live band will ensure a Christmas atmosphere. The traditional Advent market is open on the four weekends in December (Fridays to Sundays) up to Christmas Eve. In addition to an extensive range of cuisine and handicrafts, great importance is also attached to entertainment. Music and special program items for our big and especially small visitors, such as the Kuddel-Muddel-Theater, Clown Jako or a picture book cinema trip, invite you to linger and help to pass the waiting time for the visit of the Christ Child.
