The Teichalmsee is the heart of the Almenland Nature Park. This moor lake is located at 1,200m above sea level and is ideal for a walk around the lake or as a starting point for a hike on the Teichalm. The entrance to the moor nature trail, the Latschenhütte, the Hotel Teichwirt, the Almladen Reisinger, the Teichalm ski lifts and the cross-country ski run are right next to the lake.
Not only a walk around the approx. 1 kilometer long gravel path (bar-friendly and suitable for pushchairs) around the lake, but also a short cooling off with your feet or a trip with the pedal boat are wonderful.
The Teichalmsee lies at about 1,200 meters above sea level and covers an area of 5 hectares and is about 5 m deep at the deepest point.
In summer you can go pedal boating, walk around the lake, fish in the Teichalmsee or Mixnitzbach, relax on the shore, enjoy the excellent gastronomy, or use the lake as a starting point for hikes.
The Teichalm lifts and the Reisinger ski school are also located directly on the lake, as well as the Reisinger family's winter sports equipment rental. The Teichalmsee is also the starting point for the 16 km of cross-country ski trails (Hochmoor-Loipe, Sommeralm-Loipe, Bärenschütz-Loipe) on the Teichalm and Sommeralm, which are groomed in classic and skating style. There are also winter and snowshoe hikes and horse-drawn sleigh rides.
There are also enough parking spaces and an e-filling station at Teichalmsee.
A walk around the lake with dogs is of course allowed, we only ask that the dogs be kept on a leash. The dogs can also go to the Teichalmsee, but this is a moor lake and therefore a bit dirty on some days. The moor nature trail can also be hiked with dogs on a leash, but it is not permitted to leave the wooden plank path, neither dog nor human!
The Teichalmsee is a popular starting point for numerous hikes such as:
- Red wall hike
- Hochlantsch round
- Nature trail on the moor
- Gerlerkogel
- Schüsserlbrunn
- Heulantsch round
- Almenland hike
- Osser circular routea variant for the Bärenschützklamm
and many more!
Take advantage of the opportunity and travel by public transport.
