Be it only the former castles on the Wildon castle hill, the castles Schwarzenegg, Freibühel, Murstätten, Eybesfeld and Wildon, old burgher and farm houses or the parish churches St. Lorenzen am Hengsberg, St. Magdalena zu Wildon and St. Margarethen bei Lebring - the four Hengsberg communities are rich in historical and architectural monuments from the Middle Ages to modern times. Moreover, Hengsberg was the seat of the original and mother parish for the entire Kainach Valley. Researching the history of the nobility and clergy, citizens and peasants of Hengsberg is a central theme of our association's work. Further information at

Coming from the A9 Pyhrnautobahn - exit Wildon.
Great round trip from Wildon Castle via Unterhaus to the Buchkogel.Then continue to the Buschenschank Bockmoar, from there again via Unterhaus to the church of Wildon and back to the castle.Along the hiking trail there are some interesting information boards about geology, archeology and history of the region.
With the Wildon Culture Trail we get to know a part of the cross-community project "Hengist Culture Trail". Several themed trails lead through the municipalities of Hengsberg, Lang, Lebring-St. Margarethen and Wildon, linking geological, archaeological, historical and cultural-historical features at over 60 stations.
