Bee nature trail - " Bee-active nature trail" St. Ruprecht an der Raab

On this themed hiking trail you will learn everything about bees at eight interactive stations over a distance of around 1.2 km.
What does a bee's life and home look like? What is the job of the queen? How much honey does a bee colony produce per year? How far do bees have to fly for 1 kg of honey?

All these questions and many more are answered by the bee trail in St. Ruprecht an der Raab. Young and old can learn everything worth knowing about bees on the path from the park to the Stefaniequelle on Burgthannerweg. Already in the historical park with its old trees, the visitor is introduced to the topic of bees. As part of a primary school project, plants that particularly attract bees were planted here and labelled with stones painted by the children.

The bee trail leads along the Raaballee, the tennis court and an idyllic forest path to the Stefaniequelle. On eight information boards, it informs about the structure and functioning of a bee colony and the relationship between humans, honey bees and wild bees. It can be hiked independently at any time and is intended to provide an opportunity to learn about honey bees and their importance for humans. A harmless beehive provides a deep insight into the bees' home. Numerous flaps invite you to join in and puzzle along. Interactive and vivid, instructive and exciting - this is how the bee trail in St. Ruprecht an der Raab presents itself!

  •  The approximately 1.2 km long bee trail is located on one of the six best signposted and marked circular hiking trails in St. Ruprecht an der Raab - the Burgthannerweg.

We follow this circular trail, named after the partner municipality of Burgthann, along the Raaballee to the Stefaniequelle, whose water is said to have eye-healing properties. It is a special place of strength and invites you to relax in a romantic setting.

Right next to it is the "Blessing Place" for children, which we should definitely visit and take a break.

The circular trail leads back via an apple orchard with a wonderful view of the market town of St. Ruprecht an der Raab.

We can also take the shortcut via the world's largest nature 3D television in the immediate vicinity of the Stefaniequelle spring.

You should definitely continue your hike about 200 metres after the last station of the bee trail to the Stefaniequelle - its water is said to have an eye-healing effect and it is a special place of power. The surrounding forest invites children in particular to play adventurous games.
