St. Jakober round, Ratten
A hike from the power-giving village of Ratten around the flower village of St. Jakob im Walde, past a mill and with many views of the Joglland - Waldheimat region.
The tour starts at the village café and immediately afterwards takes you over the Feistrizbrücke bridge on the hiking trail number 915 up to Gasthof Orthofer. Once you reach the top, you are rewarded with a panoramic view of the Joglland-Waldheimat region. After some refreshments at the "Wiaz'Haus", the hike leads along parts of the Joglland cross-country ski trail to the Feichtenhofer watermill and into the village of St. Jakob. The return route takes you past the Berger family hotel and via Gasthof Orthofer to Ratten.

Ratten is located approx. 25 km north of the district capital Weiz between Pretulaple and Joglland in the upper Feistriztal valley.
By car:
From Graz - A2 to Gleisdorf - take the 2nd exit at the traffic circle (B64/B72)
From Weiz - via B72
From Germany - via A3

Ratten, town center
- We start at the village café over the Feistritz bridge and follow hiking trail 915 through the Filzmoos settlement
- Via "Steindler" and "Schlagbauer" we reach Gasthof Orthofer, cross the Joglland cross-country ski trail several times and continue our hike
- We stay on trail 915 and walk past the Feichtenhofer watermill to the Pink inn in St. Jakob i./W.
- Now we turn off into a side street between the church and Spar and follow trail 913
- We can stop for refreshments at the Landhotel Berger and then hike on to the Ochsenkopf
- From here we follow the cross-country ski trail to Gasthaus Orthofer
- We hike back to Ratten via path 915, where we came from
We recommend taking a break at the Feichtenhof water mill. Here you can enjoy the untouched nature of Joglland and experience the operation of the mill in the summer months.
