Brandlucken-Anger over the Zetz
Open
The Hohe Zetz is the panoramic mountain of the Weizers. The GH Almer, a popular tourist inn, is also on the way.
The Brandlucken is the eastern gateway to the alpine pasture area, but is itself at over 1,000 m above sea level. The place is dominated by the open-air stage of the Huab'n Theater, which performs Austrian comedy classics here in the summer months.
The Hohe Zetz with its 1,264 m is a popular panoramic mountain and can be reached from the Brandlucken without any major inclines. With a bit of luck you might even come across chamois. From the summit cross you have a wonderful view out into the Hungarian plain.
From the Hoher Zetz you go down to the Rauchstubenhaus with the Almer inn, which is ideal for a stop. The 300-year-old farmhouse high above Anger was inhabited until 1967 and today houses a small local museum with farm exhibits, the “Rauchstubenhaus”. Guided tours take place several times a day from Thursday to Sunday.
The destination is the idyllic town of Anger, from there you take the SAM taxi back to the Brandlucken.
