Schüsserlbrunn from the Teichalm
Open
The easiest way to the small pilgrimage church of Schüsserlbrunn, known from the TV programme "9 places - 9 treasures", starts on the lovely Teichalm.
The small wooden church of Schüsserlbrunn virtually clings to the Hochlantsch wall. For centuries, believers have made pilgrimages here, hoping above all for relief from eye complaints. The place takes its name from the healing spring whose water is collected in small "bowls" in the rock behind the church. The church was rebuilt several times and even moved several metres after a threatened rockfall in 1974.
Schüsserlbrunn can only be reached on foot, the route from the Teichalm is the shortest and easiest way. From the "Steirischer Jockl" inn, 198 steps carved into the rock still lead down to the church. Between May and October, church services are regularly celebrated in the church, and then the church is also open. Otherwise, the innkeeper of the "Steirischer Jockl" keeps the church key.
