The poultry farm Kaltenegger-Felfer is located in Rattenberg near Fohnsdorf and has been run as a family business for three generations. About 50 years ago, the family switched from dairy farming to poultry farming and today also engages in crop production and forestry alongside egg production.
All generations of the family work together on the farm, supported by long-term employees. Due to a barn renovation in 2020, free-range eggs can now be offered in addition to barn-laid eggs.
The product range includes fresh eggs—about 4.5 million pieces annually—homemade pasta, and poultry meat. During the Easter season, especially many colored eggs are produced, which are delivered throughout the region. Regionality, freshness, and the well-being of the animals are at the heart of the business philosophy.
