Excellent quality guaranteed!

Rad & E-Bike HIRE

Left your bike or e-bike at home? No problem: there are plenty of places in the Thermen- & Vulkanland region to pick up a road bike or an e-bike.

Excellently maintained rental bikes and e-bikes are ten a penny in the Thermen- und Vulkanland, so spare yourself the trouble of bringing your own, and put your trust in the rental companies whose quality guarantees offer comfort and safety when touring the region.

From touring bikes and trekking bikes to e-bikes, Southeast Styria has got the lot. So there’s nothing else standing in your way of exploring the southeast and east of the region by bike on a network of signposted cycling trails.

Even inexperienced cyclists can go further than they ever dreamed on an e-bike, perhaps even climbing up to the highest vineyards. Please remember: Protect what’s important, and wear a helmet!

Tip: Some of our bike and e-bike rental points are also GenussCard partners (“Aktivbike” bike hire in Bad Gleichenberg and St. Anna am Aigen, as well as e-bike hire at the Gästehaus Kristall in Bad Radkersburg).

Cycling events

There are numerous cycling events in Styria. For example, the cycling region of Bad Radkersburg kicks the new cycling season into gear with its “Anradeln” event; Bad Waltersdorf hosts an annual cycling tour for young people; while every 1 May, national Austrian broadcaster ORF organises a cycling day for the whole family on the Raabtalradweg R11.

Incidentally: You’ll have the time of your life on the 14 pleasure cycling tours! These enjoyable trips don’t just guide you through the Thermen- & Vulkanland region.

TOURING TIPS

To ensure that your cycling trip runs as smoothly as possible, here are a couple of useful tips that you may like to consider before arriving here on holiday:

  • Please note that rental bikes are limited and soon get booked up, especially in peak season – we highly recommend booking in advance!
  • Please arrange a bike delivery service: most rental stations offer delivery and pick-up to your accommodation, so you can hit the road straightaway.
  • Insurance policies for damage caused by falls, crashes or accidents and vandalism are affordable, and will protect you from paying any unexpected costs.
  • Please find out in advance about possible tours you might like to do, schedule in some time for breaks, check the opening times of rest stops/inns/wine taverns offering refreshments – this will save you a lot of time when you get here.
  • In order not to go hungry in the middle of your tour, or to add the finishing touch to a perfect shady picnic spot, why not consider a packed lunch – most accommodations are only too happy to provide you with a selection of goodies for your trip!
