Ilzbergrunde, Puch bei Weiz

A varied circular route that takes you to the Styrian Apple Road right through the ApfelLand in eastern Styria. Whether you go at blossom or harvest time, it will always be an experience.
The circular trail starts in the town center of Puch bei Weiz and leads you to the Ilzberg Chapel on the Ilzberg. In the midst of this enchanting landscape also affectionately called ... the orchard of Austria, it goes comfortably in the direction of Singerberg and then on to Harl. You will pass directly by the fruit tree museum "Haus des Apfels". This is open from Thursday to Sunday from 10:00 am. Then continue to Glatzenberg and Hohenilz. Immediately afterwards we reach the Ilzberg chapel. Through a well-marked forest we come to the Perndorf Chapel. Then turn right and continue through apple orchards until you reach the crossroads at Weinhof-und Obsthof Fink. Here we turn right and at the next crossroads we turn left to walk along narrow asphalt paths and meadow paths, always slightly downhill. When we reach the road, we turn left one last time and then follow the road to the starting point.

This circular trail starts in the center of Puch bei Weiz, at the bus stop there are several yellow signposts. We keep to the west, pass the houses, and soon go through an apple orchard. When we reach the road, we go slightly uphill to the right. At the fruit farm Leitner vlg. Niglbauer until the next road junction. Turn left and after a short while you reach the Haus des Apfels. Following the sidewalk slightly uphill we meet the SAM station WZ 2211, where we turn left and go downhill along the road. At the end of the road, the path leads us along the right for the time being and then over the stream, before it goes slightly uphill again at the edge of the meadow.

At the road we keep to the right and after about 300 m turn left into a gravel road. The trail then continues downhill. We cross the Landesstraße 392 in Hohenilz to continue downhill, past apple orchards and through forests of the forest road uphill again, come again to the L392- the thoroughfare of Hohenilz-, keep right and walk about 300 m along the road. At the crossroads with the SAM station WZ 2223 we turn right, pass a few houses and walk through the forest up to the Ilzberg.

At the chapel on Ilzberg it is worth taking a short break before we continue our way on the right at the edge of the forest. Arrived at the road we continue left, reach the center of the village and the chapel in Pernsorf, where we continue again to the left.

After about 300 m. we keep to the right and walk along a gravel road, through apple orchards, until we come to the crossroads at the Fink wine and fruit farm. Here we turn right and at the next crossroads we turn left to hike along narrow asphalt paths and meadow paths, always slightly downhill. When we reach the road, we turn left one last time and then follow the road to the starting point.
