Historische Hagelabwehrraketen-Abschusshütte
FeldbachInsight into the history of weather manipulation.
Missiles for hail defense have become unpopular in the last 20 years due to the use of aircraft. In the past, however, the rockets were used to defend against damage caused by hailstorms. The inconspicuous wooden hut stands in Gniebingberg near the Marienkapelle chapel near Feldbach.
It is one of the last of about 180 hail defense rocket launching huts that have survived from the years after 1960. In the hut, which is only 5 square meters in size and stands in its original place, information is provided about how people tried to take action against approaching storms by launching hail defense rockets.
The small standalone cabin is accessible at any time. Please inquire about guided tours by phone.
