In 1908-1910 the church was built in the Secession style according to the plans of the well-known Protestant church architect Prof. Otto Kuhlman (Berlin).
Before the church was built, services were held in the so-called "Ice Cellar" in Stiegengasse (residential buildings in Mühl- and Stiegengasse).
The interior of the church dates back to the time of construction. The pulpit altar with wall painting was designed by Birkle and Thomer (Berlin), and the organ was donated in 1910. The adjacent rectory was built as early as 1903. From 1912 to 1913, a children's home was established, which currently houses a private kindergarten. From 1945 to 1955, it served as the seat of the British occupation authority. After 1945, the house was used as a student residence.
