This year's cycling season opens on May 1 with the Radio Steiermark cycling star ride organized by the Raabtal Radlwirte.
Cycle on marked cycle paths on the R11 - along the Raab, next to meadows and fields in beautiful south-eastern Styria. The “R11”, one of the most popular cycle paths in Austria, stretches 105 kilometers from Passail to Jennersdorf in Burgenland. Under the organization of the Raabtal-Radlwirte and ORF Radio Styria, the traditional “Radltag” heralds the start of the season on the Raabtal cycle path with a rally to Feldbach.
Depending on the weather, up to 2000 cyclists pedal their way through the idyllic Raabtal valley to relax on Feldbach's Zentrum at a musical and culinary cyclists' morning pint. Accompanied by ORF editor Erich Fuchs, the day promises not only enjoyment on the saddle, but also live impressions along the route. Participation in the cycling day is free of charge, but those who want to challenge their luck can get a BonusCard for the chance to win great prizes and admission to thermal spas in Thermen- & Vulkanland. Supported by the tourism associations Thermen- & Vulkanland, Oststeiermark and the town of Feldbach, the cycling day is a firm fixture in the region's calendar of events. Let's go to the ORF Radio Styria Cycling Day - where spring is celebrated on two wheels!
