The Kunsthalle Feldbach is showing Lisa-Maria Schmidt's mystical exhibition "Carmilla" until October 31.
The Kunsthalle Feldbach is still showing the exhibition “Corecorean G*RL VAEmpire” by the young Feldbach artist Lisa-Maria Schmidt until October 31. Inspired by Sheridan Le Fanu's novel Carmilla from 1872, the exhibition explores the life of the legendary vampire who is based at Schloss Hainfeld. The artist interweaves Styrian castle history with digital present in her multimedia installation, creating a fascinating tension "between Styrian Castle Road and digital shadow realm”.
Under her artist name “elektro-lyzer”, Schmidt combines fantasy and village reality with various collaborators into a “glitchy-cute folklore” that transforms Feldbach into a realm between the living and the dead. The production is led by Kibo Alexander Flitsch.
