At the foot of the legendary, 1498m high Teufelstein lies the high-altitude climatic health resort of Fischbach. As a liveable residential and tourist community, Fischbach has around 1,530 inhabitants and around 40,000 overnight stays per year.
A healthy infrastructure and many commercial enterprises provide jobs in the village and guarantee comprehensive care for the population and guests. All public facilities such as the local pharmacy, the parish office, the postal partner, assisted living and the registry office are important for village life.

An absolute highlight in Fischbach's cultural life is the Osterhasenkirtag on Palm Sunday, a family festival that heralds the awakening of spring. One of the oldest and most traditional events is the Ägydikirtag at the beginning of September, which makes customs unforgettable and creates a folk festival atmosphere in Fischbach.
