On the Historic Long Distance Trail Wechselland, the history of the Wechselland region is made accessible on contemporary and innovatively designed display boards at more than 100 HWW stations.
This HWW station is part of the Wechselland Historical Long-Distance Hiking Trail (HWW). More information can be found at www.wechsel-wandern.at. Each HWW station is dedicated to a chapter from the history of Wechselland.
Topic: Lafnitz as a borderThe decision in 1042/43 that the Lafnitz and Leitha rivers became the border to Hungary had lasting significance. The Wechselland thus became a borderland for almost 900 years.
