The Handler family has officially certified organic fruit since 2019. The managing director "Marillensepp" Josef Handler was able to gather a wide range of knowledge in the agricultural sector very early on. He implemented his vision of revolutionizing apricot cultivation in Styria step by step.
The fruit tree orchards are located on steep southern slopes in the hilly landscape of eastern Styria around Ebersdorf. The increased effort due to the steep slopes is gladly accepted additional hours of sunshine and thus the better quality of the sweet fruit.
The optimal fertilization of the apricot blossoms is carried out by wild bees, which have been deliberately settled by building dwellings along the plantations. Compared to cultivated bees, this robust species of bee can swarm out earlier and at lower temperatures thanks to its furry coat and thus perfectly fertilize our apricot trees.
With Marillensepp's revolutionary plantation system, the fruits receive more even sunlight compared to conventional apricot cultivation. This results in particularly uniform and large fruits of the best quality. In addition to organic apricots, there are also organic strawberries...
