The Buchteln (a yeast pastry filled with jam) in the Buchtelbar in Wenigzell are known far beyond the region.
Over 50 years ago, the first Buchteln were baked in the oven of the newly opened "Gasthaus zur Sonne" in Wenigzell. At first, they were rather small Buchteln. However, they soon grew larger, and the "Gasthaus zur Sonne" was affectionately nicknamed "Buchtelbar" by the enthusiastic guests. The Buchtelbar is now run by Kemal Pütün.
The inn offers you not only traditional home-style cooking with regional products but also a comprehensive program for bus tour groups and motorbike guests.
