The highlight of the festive event in the Weizer Christmas world is the Weizer Christkindlspiel held annually in the main square. There is silence and excitement until the Christkind again descends from the heavens this year, making children's hearts beat faster. The traditional Christkindlspiels starts at 5:30 PM in the Weizer main square.
Every Advent Saturday, the Christmas market takes place in the area of the Kunsthaus Passage, Rathausgasse, Bismarckgasse, K&K Passage, and at Südtiroler Platz, illuminated beautifully by Christmas lights. In a cozy atmosphere, a diverse range of crafts, high-quality goods, and delicious treats are offered.
Local clubs and charitable organizations from Weiz also host their members, friends, and visitors in the club hut village as well as throughout the market area. The market is accompanied by pleasant music from the VS ASO Weiz, a trumpet trio from the Weiz music school, and the winner of the Styrian accordion competition 2024, Phillipp Pscheidt.
Additionally, throughout Advent, there is a special children's fairy tale forest with the story tree in the Kunsthaus Passage. Visitors can stroll through the city in the glow of the Christmas lights and admire life-sized wooden snowmen along the streets as well as the charming nativity scene in the main square. There is also a very beautiful wooden nativity scene in the Garden of Generations. At the photo point in the K&K Passage, visitors can capture their visit to the Weiz Christmas market every Saturday between 10 AM and 4 PM. A ride in a horse-drawn carriage through the festively decorated city center is also one of the absolute highlights of a visit to the Weiz Christmas market.
