The new play by the authors of the sensational comedy "Extrawurst" about a funeral that goes completely off the rails. Wolfhardt Steininger, patriarch of a medium-sized company, has peacefully passed away at 94 years old, and his designated successor Hubert Zacherl is organizing the funeral for the company. However, his text on the wreath ribbon causes significant irritation: "In deep mourning. Your employees." Quickly, Hubert, the new "old white man" at the top, finds himself in opposition not only to his marketing director, the social media chief, and his secretary but also to the very self-confident intern. In front of the theater audience, assembled as a mourning community, the company's leadership gradually tears each other apart in this highly pointed piece. Not even the desperate pastor can calm the tumult. The comedy, full of twists, sharply depicts the abysses, pitfalls, and rhetorical tricks of the current discussion on politically correct "gendering" and their socially "mandated" handling, while also uncovering their all-too-human causes and awakening the longing for attentive and respectful interactions with one another. As with "Extrawurst," the audience can expect a whirlwind of punchlines. There is guaranteed to be sophisticated fun and material for discussion.
