On the National Holiday, the Pöllauer Tal Nature Park
once again transforms into a stage for a very special hiking experience:
The popular hiking day “Around the Pöllauer Pear”
invites you to exercise, enjoy, and musical entertainment
amidst a unique natural landscape.
For over 25 years, the event has attracted thousands of hiking enthusiasts
to the region around Pöllau.
The focus is on the Pöllauer Pear –
the flagship product of the nature park –
as well as the diverse habitats that
make this cultural landscape so special.
- The hiking day begins at 08:30 AM with a Holy Mass in the Pöllau parish church.
- From 09:15 AM, ORF presenter Paul Prattes will officially open the event,
- followed by the hiking blessing by Pastor Deogratias Ntikazohera.
Two hiking routes to choose from:
- Family-friendly: 7.3 km
- Panorama tour: 12.9 km
Along the trails, you can expect refreshment stations with regional delicacies,
including pear specialties, natural beer, and farm products.
Music groups will provide good vibes along the way.
Info points will offer exciting insights into the nature park's work,
such as the project Bee-Wild for biodiversity protection, rocky habitats, or flowering areas.
Closing festival in Pöllau Castle Park from 12:00 PM:
- Music by “Die jungen Aufbradler” and “Die Edlseer”
- Regional delicacies, children's program & raffle
- Raffle of the Pears raffle tickets from 5:00 PM
- → Tickets available in advance at the tourism or nature park office
