Reading - Daniel Wisser (Simon Asser) - Smart City Judenburg City Library.
The Judenburg City Library invites you to a reading with Austrian author Daniel Wisser, who will present his latest novel, Smart City. The story centers on journalist Morag Oliphant, who moves to the futuristic model city of NEUDA after suffering a terrible loss – a place that promises perfect security and order. But behind the flawless surface, she encounters inconsistencies: people are disappearing, control is being privatized, and the question arises as to how much freedom we are willing to sacrifice for security.
Smart City is an exciting, cleverly told novel about surveillance, power, and the illusion of a perfect society. Daniel Wisser is the 2018 winner of the Austrian Book Prize for Königin der Berge (Queen of the Mountains) and has also been writing crime novels under the pseudonym Simon Ammer since 2024.
