Nordpanoramarunde Kleinlobming

The northern panoramic tour is an extendable hike on the shady side. Depending on your mood and fitness level, you can choose between a short or longer variant.
Tour corresponds to trail no. 48a on signposts on site

The northern panoramic tour can be extended depending on your mood and fitness level and offers impressive views of the well-tended forest and alpine pastures on the Kleinlobminger-Sonnseite, right up to Lobmingtal's local mountain, the Steinplan. The short version is only on forest roads and hiking trails, whereby you should plan a pure walking time of approx. 1h 50min. The "long" version of this trail sometimes leads through pastureland and is currently still accessible without overpasses, i.e. there are places where you have to climb over fences, but this is easily possible with a little skill. In general, the village of Kleinlobming offers numerous hiking opportunities, good traditional inns, rustic snack stations and a small grocery store - everything you need for hiking.

In the immediate vicinity of the information board in Kleinlobming (1), 759 m, there is a wooden bridge over the Lobmingbach stream. Immediately after the bridge, turn right and follow the Lobming Valley Cycle and Adventure Trail out of the valley. The asphalted path leads slightly downhill, past the Kleinlobming ski area and always along the Lobmingbach stream. After approx. 1 km we come to a bridge where we leave the cycle and adventure trail and turn left. Pass the houses and continue uphill along the gravel road, which leads across well-tended meadows and pastures and partly through the forest. The view of the sunny side opposite is magnificent and the well-tended landscape is easy on the eye. At an altitude of 900 m we reach the farm vlg. Schalk farm (2).A small wooden house on pillars catches the eye as you ascend. This is the junction where you decide whether to take the short or long route. Continue uphill to the right, a short stretch across the meadow and then continue through the forest until you reach the first gate or fence (currently still without a crossing). We continue slightly to the left downhill along a forest road until we reach another fence (currently still without a crossing).  On meadows and past beautiful old fruit trees we come to the third gate (currently without a crossing) and reach the farm vlg. Unterer Harmenter farm (3), 957 m. We continue uphill along the access road to the farm until we reach the Gaberl Bundesstraße and keep left. After a little more than 100 m, a road branches off to the left, which we follow and reach the farm vlg. Oberer Harmenter (4), 1000 m, through this road. We walk slightly downhill along a forest road through the forest until we leave the road in a right-hand bend and continue left onto the hiking trail. We keep in line downhill and come to the gate or fence we already know. Back to the farm vlg. Schalk farm (2), 900 m, take the ascent route. Under the old farmhouse and past the newly renovated chapel, the hiking trail leads across the meadow to a small stream. We continue our leisurely hike through the forest until we reach the Kleinlobming ski slope and cross the slope slightly downhill. We now hike downhill on a gravel road and soon reach our starting point.

If the snow conditions allow, this hiking suggestion is ideal for snowshoeing. A hike for the whole year.

Please note that at weekends and during vacation periods this line is only available to a very limited extent. Here you can travel the 5 km to Großlobming or 11 km to Kleinlobming with a regional cab company - available directly at Knittelfeld station. If you stay overnight in one of the hotels, they often offer a pick-up service from the station.
