From Kemeterhof to Stöcklhütte

Using a low-traffic road to the Stöcklhütte (in the ski resort Hauser Kaibling).
Above the village of Haus at about 1,200 m above sea level enjoy a leisurely winter hike through snowy forests and then still meet comfortably with skiing friends and/or family members at the Stöcklhütte.

More information

Take the Ennstalbundesstraße (B320) to Haus im Ennstal. From there, head towards the Tauern cable car (Tauernseilbahn) and turn right below the Panoramahotel Gürtel. Follow the road (Oberhausbergweg - approx. 3.5 km) up the Oberhausberg to the starting point “Kemeterhof”.

Ascent from the village Haus by car up to the Oberhausberg to the Kemeterhof. From there, follow the wide, low-traffic mountain road, past the middle station of the Schladminger Tauern cable car, to the end point at Stöcklhütte. The way back is the same as the way there.

Alternatively, it is possible to ascend with the Schladminger Tauern cable car to the middle station. From there it is only a short walk to the Stöcklhütte.

Watch the hustle and bustle of the winter sports enthusiasts on Hauser Kaibling on the Stöcklterrasse or make yourself comfortable in the rustic ski lodge.
Arrival by public transport only possible to Haus im Ennstal / Schladminger Tauern cable car.

Safety information

Safety on the mountainside: changes in the weather, sudden fall in temperature, thunder storms, wind, fog and snow fields are all objective dangers and require the correct behaviour whilst underway. the landlords of the huts are all very knowledgeable about the mountains and can give you good tips about the weather and the routes. Insufficient equipment, exaggerated opinion of ones capabilities, frivolousness, poor health condition and a false evaluation of the situation can lead to a critical situation. In thunder storms: summits, crest-sites and safety rope aids are to be avoided.
