Parish church in the centre of Pöls.
In the course of missionary attempts in Slavic Carantania (Carinthia, Styria), the church "ad Undrimas", among others, was consecrated from Salzburg in 757. According to the current state of research, this oldest known church in Styria was located at Pölshals. However, it was destroyed around 770 during Slavic uprisings and was never rebuilt. The construction of today's Pölser parish church began in 1147. The church was built as a Romanesque pillar basilica, but in the 14th century it was remodeled in Gothic style. Today it can be recognized as a Romanesque-Gothic basilica both inside and outside.
