4-summit-Tour Hochaide - Moserspitz - Diewaldgupf - Seegupf
We set out on a scenic four-summit hike around the Rottenmanner Hütte in the Gesäuse adventure region. Hochhaide, Moserspitz, Diewaldgupf, and Seegupf reward us with unforgettable panoramic views and rugged alpine terrain.
This demanding loop takes us across four prominent 2,000-meter peaks in the Rottenmanner Tauern. After reaching the Rottenmanner Hütte, we enjoy a short break before following trail no. 944a over Hirschriedl toward the Singsdorfer Alm. We ascend along a small stream to the spring at Bachspreng – the last chance to refill our water. Beneath the steep cliffs of Moserspitz, we reach the saddle at 2,165 m and, after some scrambling, the summit ridge, which is secured with cables. The views from the top are spectacular. We continue along the ridge to Moserspitz (2,230 m), Diewaldgupf (2,125 m), and Seegupf (2,011 m), tackling about 250 meters of counter-ascent. The descent leads through the Seescharte and a secured path to the Globuckensee. After a final rest at the Rottenmanner Hütte, we return to the parking area. Surefootedness, a head for heights, and alpine experience are essential for this tour.

More information
The journey to the parking lot of the material cableway for the Rottenmanner Hütte is via the A9 motorway, exit Rottenmann, then follow the signs for "Rottenmanner Hütte." In Rottenmann, turn right toward the Stadtwald district and continue along the paved road and then the gravel road until you reach the parking lot at the material cableway.
From the parking area near the material cableway, we follow the “Pilgrimage Trail of World Religions” to the Rottenmanner Hütte, which we reach after about 1.5 hours. After a short break on the sunny terrace, we continue on trail no. 944a over Hirschriedl toward the Singsdorfer Alm (approx. 1,600 m). We ascend along a small stream to the spring at Bachspreng. Turning right, we hike beneath the steep cliffs of Moserspitz to the saddle at 2,165 m. After about 30 minutes and some scrambling, we reach the summit ridge, which is secured with cables. We then follow the ridge over Moserspitz, Diewaldgupf, and Seegupf, tackling several counter-ascents. From Seegupf, we descend via the Seescharte and a secured path to the Globuckensee. From there, it’s just 15 minutes back to the Rottenmanner Hütte. After a final rest, we return to the parking area in about one hour.
