A challenging Nordic walking tour with impressive views of the surrounding mountain panorama of the Ausseerland region. This circuit combines sporting challenge with scenic diversity and leads from the center of Altaussee up towards Moosberg, past historical and natural highlights, before returning via Lupitsch.
The tour starts at the Kurhaus Altaussee, from where it heads north through the Altaussee spa gardens. After the kindergarten, the route runs for a short distance along the main road before turning left over a bridge at kilometer 0.4. Continue half-right uphill along the old Salzbergstraße. At km 0.7, the path branches off to the left onto a hiking trail that leads through the shady forest.
At km 1.6, a steep climb begins, which is rewarded at km 2.5 with a detour to the historic Pflindsberg castle ruins. The route then continues on a forest road until km 3.2, where it turns left onto a forest path. This leads to just before km 4.2, before a long descent towards Unterlupitsch begins.
Between km 4.2 and 5.4, the route descends along narrow side roads and through sections of forest. Following the markings, the trail leads back to Altaussee. The mixture of meadow paths, forest roads, forest trails, and side roads makes this circuit particularly varied and ideal for athletic walking with intensive arm movement.
The tour is ideal for anyone who wants to enrich their Nordic walking vacation in the Salzkammergut with a challenging route. The route also offers a variety of attractions for nature and culture lovers, such as the waterfall (a short detour is possible) or the view of the impressive mountain world.
This Nordic walking circuit in Altaussee is not only valuable training for health care, but also a perfect opportunity for physical activity in nature.
