Journey to Ausseerland Salzkammergut

Ausseerland is located in the heart of Austria and is surrounded by an impressive mountain world. Due to mountain giants like the Dachstein, Grimming and the Tote Gebirge, it is somewhat secluded and wonderfully quiet. Ausseerland as the Styrian Salzkammergut borders directly to Upper Austria. Thanks to its remoteness, customs have been preserved here for centuries. In the past as well as today, the Ausseerland impresses with a special magic. And it is precisely for this reason that nature lovers seek their vacation happiness here.

Arrival by car

From Vienna, take the A2 Südautobahn and the S6 to St. Michael, and continue on the A9 Pyhrn-Autobahn to the Liezen exit in the direction of Ausseerland. At the Trautenfels intersection, the marked turnoff leads to Ausseerland.

From Graz, the Ausseerland can also be reached via the A9 Phyrnautobahn.

If you are coming from Vienna via Linz, leave the A1 Westautobahn at the Regau exit and continue via Gmunden on the B145 to Bad Ischl. The Ausseerland turnoff leads directly to your destination.

From Salzburg, the A10 Tauern Autobahn leads to Ausseerland. From the Golling exit, the journey continues on the B162 in the direction of Lammertal, past Abtenau to Gosau and on to Hallstättersee on the B166. There you keep to the left and continue in the direction of Bad Goisern, where the slip road onto the B145 finally leads in the direction of Bad Aussee.

Alternatively, the journey from Salzburg is also possible via the B158 via Fuschl and Lake Wolfgang.

The arrival from Carinthia is also via the Tauern Autobahn A10, until the exit Eben. After leaving the freeway, the journey continues on the B99 towards Hüttau, past St. Martin/Tennengebirge to Rußbach and Gosau, and finally to Lake Hallstatt on the B166. From here the road turns left in the direction of Bad Goisern and continues to the slip road on the B145, which leads to Bad Aussee.
