The ski tour on the Große Tragl with starting point on the Tauplitzalm is possible almost the entire winter due to the snow reliability in the Ausseerland - Salzkammergut.
On this beautiful ski tour in Ausseerland - Salzkammergut the different landscapes are constant companions. First it goes over the alpine plateau of the Tauplitzalm and along the Steirersee, then you get stepwise in the face of the Sturzhahn to the Großer Tragl.
First past the Hollhaus and across the alpine plateau in an easterly direction. Shortly before the Steirersee there is the first short descent towards the Steirerseehütten.
Passing the huts on the left, you climb uphill along the foothills of the Sturzhahn, always following the winter markings. Under the rock walls you go up to the Traglhals. At the Traglhals keep sharp left and continue to the summit of the Großer Tragl. You will be rewarded for the ascent with a wonderful panoramic view.
The descent follows the ascent route.
