This short but scenic
hike in Ausseerland leads to one of the most beautiful
panoramic points above
Bad Aussee. The path is a little steeper, but easy to walk and ideal for anyone looking for an impressive nature experience in a short time.
From the
Bad Aussee spa gardens, head east up the Traun. After a few minutes, you cross the Grundlseer Traun on the picturesque “
Gamsensteg” footbridge. On the other side, the path leads uphill over a few steps. At the first step there is a parking lot, which you cross straight ahead.
Then an unnamed access path branches off to the right, which leads a little steeper past residential buildings. At the top end of this path is an agricultural shed. This is where the ascent along the northern slope of the Tauscherin begins.
Further steps take you to the benches from where you can enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of Bad Aussee, the Dachstein massif and the Ausseerland region. This place is a real insider tip for walkers and
photo enthusiasts.
Descend from the shed to the right along the gravel path to Kirchengasse. Once there, turn sharp left into the narrow Tauscheringasse, which leads back to the parking lot. From there, take the steps down to the Gamsensteg and back to the Kurpark.
