This varied Nordic walking route starts directly at the Narzissen Vital Resort Bad Aussee or at the Hotel Die Wasnerin on the Reiterer Plateau. The route leads along idyllic country lanes and along the Traun River to the village of Sarstein and back again. Ideal for gentle endurance training with impressive natural and scenic impressions in Bad Aussee.
From the resort car park, head southeast to Teichstraße. Turn right onto Wilhelm-Kienzl-Straße and then immediately left onto Sommersbergseestraße. At the next left-hand bend, the route continues straight ahead on a dirt road towards Bad Aussee train station.
At the train station, the route follows the Traun river downstream for a short distance along Koppental-Landesstraße before turning right at the barrier onto Austegweg. From here, the tour becomes particularly charming: along the Koppentraun river, past the sewage treatment plant and up to Sarstein. This passage can be mastered at a sporty or leisurely pace and offers perfect conditions for walking with poles and walking with arm movements.
The return route takes you along the quiet Sarsteinstraße road to the Lerchenreith plateau. Soon, the starting points—the Narzissen Vital Resort and the Hotel Die Wasnerin—are back in sight.
This Nordic walking tour in Ausseerland is a real insider tip for active guests who want to combine their Nordic walking vacation with a harmonious blend of exercise, nature, and tranquility. It leads through a variety of landscapes and is ideal for preventive health care and physical activity in nature.
