“Hoher Steg” circular route

The reconstruction of the “Hohen Steges” means that an impressive natural monument can be visited.
The gorge at the entrance to the Turrach Valley was created by amounts of meltwater. This natural monument and the "Hohe Steg" are worth seeing and can be visited as part of a tour.

More information

Coming from Judenburg via Unzmarkt to Scheifling. Keep right here and continue straight on via Teufenbach, Frojach, Murau, St. Georgen ob Murau and Stadl an der Mur to Stadl an der Mur.

Coming from Tamsweg, follow the road via Ramingstein straight ahead to Predlitz.

The starting point is from Predlitz in the direction of Turrach right after the tunnel. From the parking lot, a short circular route takes you back to the starting point via the “Hohen Steg” (walking time approx. 30 minutes).

You can also park at the Gasthof Steinerwirt and from here walk towards Murau to the Prodinger car dealership. There you then turn right towards Pirning, where you will also come to the Watschallerkapelle. When you arrive at Prining, turn right to “Hohen Steg” and then up around 130 steps to the Winkl district. Once there, turn right again to the main road or return to the Gasthof Steinerwirt (walking time approx. 1.45 hours).

With the BusBahnBim app from the interconnected line, timetable information is easier than ever before: all bus, train and tram connections in Austria can be queried by entering locations and/or addresses, stops or important points. The app is available as a free app for smartphones (Android, iOS) - on Google Play and in the App Store.
