This
pram-friendly hike leads along the Altausseer Traun upstream to
Altaussee. The shady, well-maintained path runs without any significant differences in altitude and offers a relaxed
nature experience in Ausseerland.
The starting point is in the
spa gardens of Bad Aussee. From there, the route leads through Ischlerstraße to Elisabethpromenade (Unimarkt) and on past the tennis courts. From here, the
Klaus Maria Brandauer Promenade begins, named after the famous castle actor Klaus Maria Brandauer.
The pleasant walk continues along the river to the underpass. After the underpass, the tour leads past the Altaussee municipal building yard and reaches a footbridge over the Trattenbach. After a few meters you reach the bus stop on the main road. Cross the road and then turn right across the parking lot above the former Scheichlmühle inn. The route then continues to the left along the
Altausseer Traun to the Seeklause.
You have reached your destination at the
Seevilla Altaussee. Here you have the opportunity to walk around
Lake Altaussee. The circular route can be followed to the right or left. A stop at the
Jagdhaus Seewiese or the
Seewiese Altaussee on the eastern shore of the lake is particularly worthwhile.
An alternative return journey is offered by the
solar-powered liner, which enables a relaxed return trip across the lake.
