The Jungfrauenbründl - place of legends - is located near the Wildensee in the Tote Gebirge.
At other springs, it is said that people addicted to healing water arrived by bus and carried the invigorating water away in canisters. At the Jungfrauenbründl, such excesses are unlikely to occur, given the arduous journey to and from the spring.
A brooch from the Bronze Age was found near the lake, proof that the alpine pasture has been cultivated since the Bronze Age, i.e. for more than three millennia.
In the context of the hiking development of the Tote Gebirge, a short rest at the Wildensee is recommended.
If the weather is suitable, a hike to the Wildensee is possible during the summer months.
