from the direction of Salzburg

via the Tauern Motorway A10, to exit Golling, then on B162 towards Lammertal, past Abtenau to Gosau, continue to Lake Hallstatt on B166, keeping left towards Bad Goisern, onto B145 towards Bad Aussee/Liezen

from the direction of Carinthia

via the Tauern Motorway A10, to exit Eben, then on B99 towards Hüttau, past St. Martin am Tennengebirge to Rußbach and Gosau, continue to Lake Hallstatt on B166, keeping left towards Bad Goisern, onto B145 towards Bad Aussee/Liezen
