Mondweg cult hiking trail, Miesenbach
The Wildwiesenwarte in Joglland in northeastern Styria is one of the most popular hiking destinations for the entire family in the region. The panorama is impressive, the information that you can find on the boards and take home with you is exciting.
The redesign of this 4.5 km long themed circular hiking trail between the Wildwiesenhof farm at the foot of the Wildwiese meadow and the Wildwiesenhütte hut with its observation tower at the highest point is intended to create an attractive destination for locals and visitors alike.
At 18 stations, the cultural trail provides information on folkloric and mythical themes that are still anchored in our customs today. The topics covered by this educational hiking trail range from the history of settlement in the region, the mystery of the numerous hole stones found here, and pagan Celtic customs to the themes of Bethen & Perchten, devils & witches.
In addition, “islands of strength and tranquility” have been created in particularly inviting places, inviting hikers and observers to linger and “reflect.” The outdoor furniture developed especially for the islands of tranquility gives the Kultweg and thus the Kultberg-Wildwiese an unmistakable character.

Detailed information on how to get here can be found
here.
- From the Wildwiesenhof farm, we first walk in a westerly direction along a farm track through the Kulmbauer farmstead slightly uphill to a meadow
- At the left edge of the meadow, the Mondweg branches off to the right and leads directly to the Wildwiese via a forest path
- The view from the Wildwiese is a special experience: the 36-metre-high Wildwiesenwarte offers the most beautiful view of Eastern Styria, even as far as Hungary
- The way back is either via the Floisenkogel with its weather cross in the middle of the forest or directly via the Mondweg back to the Wildwiesenhof
Due to the wonderful location, there is hardly any fog here, especially in autumn, and you can enjoy the wonderful view!
