This varied riding route between Bad Aussee and Bad Mitterndorf impresses with its natural route away from the main roads. It is ideal for anyone who wants to enjoy the tranquility of the forest and the scenic diversity of the Ausseerland region while trail riding.

The route starts at the Stadionstüberl in Bad Aussee. Take Sießreithstraße towards the main road, which you will cross shortly afterwards. The trail continues to the Traxlsiedlung settlement. After the Rigips factory grounds, the trail branches off to the right. The village of Eselsbach is left behind before the route passes under the gypsum factory's material cable car. An easily accessible cart track winds its way above the Ziegelbach stream through the shady forest to the former Almwirt inn on the historic Alte Salzstraße.

Continue along the Alte Salzstraße, also known as Radlingstraße, to the top of the pass. Shortly before the steep descent, the trail turns left onto a gravel path that leads up into the wooded Knoppenberg. The bridle path runs above the Knödl Alm and then leads right downhill via Melzen to Obersdorf. Once you reach Obersdorf, continue straight ahead across the intersection towards the old forester's lodge. There, the route turns left and continues above the Sonnenalm with its striking triangular houses to Rödschitz.

The last section then follows the upper edges of the settlement to Kochalmstraße. Turn right here and ride leisurely along the road into the village of Bad Mitterndorf.

This route is particularly suitable for experienced riders who prefer longer distances in varied terrain. If you are looking for a break in the saddle, you will find it on this riding trail.
