About the region
The community of 2000 inhabitants is located in the middle of the Saggau valley in the Südsteiermark Nature Park. Surrounded on the one hand by the Greith mountain and on the other hand by the famous wine-growing area of the Eichberg. The Saggau River flows through the agricultural valley. Hospitable farms and friendly landlords personally take care of their guests. There are numerous opportunities for walking and cycling enthusiasts. Long-distance and circular hiking trails, as well as many sporting opportunities such as tennis, fishing, horseback riding etc. round off the offer. The Path of the Senses, an interesting and varied hike, is 8 km long.
The imposing baroque parish church in St. Johann, the 400-year-old Rauchstubenhaus in Gündorf and the idyllic Georgibergkirche in Untergreith are well worth a visit. For the little ones there is the NAPUKI nature playground where they can go on an exciting puzzle hunt. Very inexpensive taxi systems are available to guests if they would like to leave the car at the accommodation. The associations offer a rich variety of events where guests and locals enjoy getting to know each other.
