From the Sperl Nature Park Farm to the Furtnerteich

Wonderful hike with fantastic landscape panoramas.
Surrounded by the Wölzer Tauern and the Seetal Alps, the Furtnerteich looks as if it were in a cauldron. This place radiates a central power, no wonder, since the pond is located in the middle of the nature park. Freely accessible all year round, the Furtner Teich is not only a swimming paradise, but also known as the region's bird airport.

More information

Coming from Teufenbach at Mariahof-St. Pass Lambrecht, turn left over the railway crossing after approx. 200 m towards Adendorf, after approx. 300 m turn left towards Adelsberg. The Sperl farm is after 900 m on the right-hand side.

Coming from Neumarkt towards Mariahof you will see the Mariahof parish church on the right. At the next junction turn right towards Adendorf, after approx. 500 m straight ahead towards Adelsberg. The Sperl farm is after 900 m on the right-hand side.

From Adelsberg to Adendorf in the direction of the train station you walk along the municipal road: at the end of the town you cross the road and reach a gravel path. This leads to the Furtner Teich. A hike to this pond is worth it. Numerous information boards provide information about the fauna and flora of this large biotope. It is not for nothing that over 237 different bird species have been identified over the decades. You walk along the Via Natura towards Mariahofer Fortified Church. It's worth a visit. Shortly after the Mariahof fortified church, the path branches off to the right and after a section of forest (Pestkreuz) you come to a grazed meadow. From there you don't follow the signs, but go across the field to the end of the pasture. Cross the Adendorfer Bach and follow the gravel path to the right. After about 150m, turn left at the Steiner property and walk another 400m to the Sperl Nature Park Farm.
TIP: On hot summer days, the Furtnerteich is a great place to cool off - so: "Pack your swimming trunks!"
