More information

Coming on the S36, take the Zeltweg Ost/Spielberg exit and follow the signs to the Red Bull Ring. You drive directly towards the Red Bull Ring, when you approach the main building you can turn right or left (the road on the left is partially closed) - on the left you drive through two road tunnels and after a few minutes you reach the Schönberghof.
We start directly behind the Schönberg church uphill, after approx. 150 meters we come to the hiking trail that branches off into the forest. We follow the marked path over easy climbs but steeper forest terrain. Until we reach the ridge and the Flatschacher Höhe, which offers us a wonderful view over the Aichfeld.
Be sure to plan a visit to the "Red Bull Ring" race track - if there is no event taking place, you can visit the ring, access is free and you can experience the scale of this project live. In addition to the many major events, there are also numerous smaller events throughout the year that give you an impression of the racing action - an experience even for non-motorsport enthusiasts. Around the Red Bull Ring there are also numerous places to stop for refreshments, such as the Landhotel Schönberghof, Bull's Lane and the café directly in the Red Bull Ring information center.
It is possible to take the ÖBB train to Knittelfeld and then the bus from Knittelfeld to the Red Bull Ring (please note: only on weekdays). From here it is about 20 minutes to the starting point, whereby this route along the motorsport track will certainly be very varied, as the track is usually in operation in summer and fall. Please check in advance whether a major event is taking place, as access to the starting point is then not possible.
Parking is available in front of the Schönbergkirche & cemetery.
