Let yourself be touched

Gentle green hills, mild climate. Eye slit houses, art and brick house = colorful, uneven architecture with bright green on the roofs.

The world-famous artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser has realized a fantastic landscape of flowing forms, nature and colors in the spa community of Bad Blumau. His philosophy of giving back to nature what has been taken from it gives new impulses to rethink the all too often everyday deadlocked structures. Many things appear in a new, colorful positive light.

The geomantic path with its recreation and power places. The Celtic tree circle, which describes the characteristics of the human being for each date of birth. No one leaves untouched this colorful oasis of peace and relaxation.

Across lush green forests you will reach the town of Burgau. Burgau Castle with its wide, deep moat will take you to a completely different era of time, where water also played an important, but different role.

Places where there were fountains used to be very important. They were places of meeting and communication. In Deutsch Kaltenbrunn historical wells have been restored and connected by an interesting circular path. On the trail of the kernel oil we reach the Fritz mill. You will not be able to resist a tasting of the freshly pressed, dark green kernel oil. A few tips for using the oil for cooking will be gladly divulged.

Following the element of water, the border river Lafnitz, you will roll leisurely from Burgenland back into Styria. The mighty city wall of Fürstenfeld makes you curious about the interesting lovely old town from afar. To learn more about the history of this town, you should visit the Pfeilburg Museum. The castle with its beautiful arcades not only houses the museum about the history of Fürstenfeld, but also gives a glimpse into the long tradition of tobacco cultivation and the processing of this plant into cigars and other tobacco products.

If you want to learn more than just the real, tangible history, you can feed your imagination on the Legend Trail, which starts here. The trail takes you to the realm of dwarves, castles, treasures and the legendary forest paths, over gentle hills and past Baroque architectural gems to the next building. This time not created by the hand of man, but by the creative power of nature.

Baumstark

Already 1,000 years ago, this mighty, wide-spreading oak (30 m high, 2.5 m trunk diameter, 8.8 m circumference) is said to have found its position for life on this site. Protected as a natural monument, no one will ever uproot it again. Impressed by this power and the tranquility of nature, you return to the largest inhabitable work of art Rogner Bad Blumau, created by Friedensreich Hundertwasser and suddenly you understand his philosophy, of living in harmony with nature, a little better.

Marvel at the fountains in the thermal capital of Fürstenfeld, enjoy an ice cream and stroll through the town.
