At the beginning of the Schilcher Wine Road, Buschenschank Zach is a starting point for enjoyment and discovery. The establishment has a history of about 100 years in fruit growing and expanded over time to include viticulture. In 1985, it took the step towards self-marketing, shortly followed by the opening of the Buschenschank. Today, the house represents the culinary diversity of the West Styria region in all its forms.
In the spacious guest garden, an impressive panoramic view of the countryside unfolds. Traditional snacks, light vegetarian and vegan dishes, as well as homemade bread, pastries, and desserts are served. The diversity of the region is also reflected in the glass: typical Schilcher, Welschriesling, Sauvignon, or Weißburgunder reflect the fertile soils and sunny hillsides. The offering is complemented by Aronia juices from their own cultivation – as the first business in the Lipizzaner homeland, Zach focused on the "health berry," which is valued for vitality and well-being. In the small farm shop, guests can find not only wines and juices but also pumpkin seed oil, honey from local beekeepers, and other specialties from West Styria.
Whether after a hike or as a destination for a trip: Buschenschank Zach is a place where the diversity of West Styria is reflected in taste, views, and warmth.
