We hike along a varied circular trail to the Rote Wand—a striking vantage point above Liezen. Along the way, we enjoy magnificent views of the city, the mighty Grimming mountain, and the Dachstein massif.
From Liezen town center, we take a leisurely hike past the Alpenbad swimming pool and climb up the Höhenstraße road to the junction at the Berggasthof Zierer mountain inn. At the end of the settlement, the steep forest climb to the Rote Wand begins—a striking vantage point with impressive views. The rocky section requires particular caution, but rewards us with a unique panorama. There are two options for the return journey: either continue to the Hinteregger Alm or return to the center via the Liezner Eck and Gampersberger. A rewarding half-day tour with an alpine character.
