Tremmelberg Seckau - Willhuber - Kalvarienweg

“The adventure-packed”: With the Tremmelberg and the “Turm im Gebirge” observation tower, you can hike to one of the most popular excursion destinations in the Murtal region directly from Seckau. Seckau is also easily accessible by bus from Knittelfeld. The trail is informative with many information boards, a little steep but very entertaining. The effort of the ascent is rewarded with a stunning view from the “tower in the mountains”. Tip: Don't forget to pay € 2 for the turnstile at the tower.

The trail initially leads along an asphalt road and takes you through the small village of Seckau, which has a centuries-long history shaped by the abbey. In the town center, numerous plaques tell the history of the individual buildings. After the Offenbacher hay bath, a forest road leads through the woods to the "Turm im Gebirge".

We start the hike in Seckau and follow the Steinmühlen Tour to Heubad Offenbacher, follow the asphalt road for approx. 200 m and hike along the forest road to the former Willhuber snack station. The forest road then climbs steadily up to the crossroads just before Vordertremmel. Now the hiking trail leads more steeply uphill to the "Turm im Gebirge", 1194m, (turnstile for ascent: € 2 fee, winter closure from November to March). The descent is via the Kalvarienkirche church and then along the Zentralalpenweg trail to Seckau.
Visit to the Calvary Church - Masses from May to October on Sundays at 15:00.
