Rosenkogel via Sommertörl
The contemplative
From the Sommertörl parking lot, the slightly ascending hiking trail leads via the Loretto Chapel to the Rosenkogel, 1359m, a peak on the sunny side of the NiederenTauern.
Highlight: Loretto Chapel, summit cross on the Rosenkogel
From the Sommertörl it is a short, easy hike to the Rosenkogel (1359m). The hike offers special attractions from spring to fall. In June, the alpine rose blossoms on the eastern slopes below the summit. In summer you can look for mushrooms and in fall ripe blackberries and cranberries. At the end of the hike, you can stop off at the Sommeralm - only open for a limited time.
The descent is via the well-marked hiking trail back to the forest road we already know and subsequently back to Sommertörl.
Access to the Sommerthörl from St. Oswald is partially not possible due to the winter closure, but the hike can also be started from St. Oswald and is accessible despite the winter closure.
