Strahbauer circular path (path 11)
Short, easy and family-friendly hike to get to known Oberwölz and its nature.
This short circular trails offers a view of medieval Oberwölz with its fortifications at the highest point. It is ideally suited as a digestive walk after a good lunch, but also as a stroll on a balmy summer evening.

More information
Coming from Judenburg via Unzmarkt to Scheifling. Here turn right in the direction of Murau. In Niederwölz keep right again and drive to Oberwölz.
From Tamsweg via Ranten (or Stadl an der Mur) via Murau to Niederwölz. Keep left here and drive to Oberwölz.
From the information center, leave the town through the Hinteregger gate to the west. At the cemetery turn right, at the first fork the road uphill to the farmstead "Strahbauer". Follow the markings along a field and meadow path to the fork in the road in front of a transmission tower. On this section of the circular trail, you have a beautiful view of Oberwölz and the Wölzer valley to the east.
At the fork in the path, you go slightly downhill and continue along the edge of the forest and enter the forest at after a pasture fence. From here the trail descends, crosses a samll gully, follows the trail south and after a few meters leaves the forest at a family house. From here you reach the settlement "Obere Schütt" and subsequently the state road. Here you turn left, follow the footpath and cycle path and finally get back to Oberwölz through the chestnut avenue.
